Cato is Cato Tjåland. He was born and raised in Egersund, a small town on the south-west coast of Norway. The last few years he has worked as a teacher, personal trainer and health food adviser in Norways main oil city, Stavanger. Some years ago, Cato was classified as one of Norways best triathletes, and it was first at the end of that career that he became interested in song-writing. Cato writes both the lyrics & melodies.
For the past 5 months, Cato has been involved in a recording project with the producers Graeme Duffin & Sandy Jones at Foundry Music Lab, Glasgow, Scotland. Duffin is the 5th member of the famous pop group Wet Wet Wet. He was also responsible for the production of the two- million selling hit “Love Is All Around”. Cato has also recorded several songs in corporation with the Oslo production team Ruben Dalen & Stian Schøld Hansen.
The album "A new day" was released on April 27, 2009.
